Project Highlights

Each of these projects demonstrates my ability to plan, implement, and support complex technical solutions in real world environments. From upgrading IT infrastructure for a multi building facility to completing a job simulation in aerospace systems engineering, these experiences reflect my focus on security, efficiency, and reliability. The expected outcomes included stronger network performance, improved communication systems, enhanced data protection, and refined engineering and problem solving skills. These projects also emphasized hands on execution, clear documentation, and a strong commitment to supporting both users and organizational goals.

Church IT Infrastructure Upgrade Project
Volunteer Technical Lead Bloomington, CA for Jehova’s Witnesses Kingdom Halls

  • Designed and deployed a secure wired and wireless network infrastructure covering multiple buildings, ensuring reliable connectivity for administrative offices, classrooms, and public areas

  • Installed and configured a firewall with content filtering and intrusion prevention to safeguard sensitive data and provide secure internet access for staff and guests

  • Implemented a VoIP phone system to streamline internal communications, reducing monthly costs and improving call quality and reliability

  • Set up user accounts, permission controls, and shared drives using a local NAS device to manage files securely and support multi-user access

  • Completed a job simulation involving electrical system design and troubleshooting navigation issues under adverse conditions, enhancing skills in aerospace systems engineering.

  • Acquired technical proficiency in electrical distribution planning, circuit breaker selection, and compliance with aerospace standards using industry-standard tools and methodologies.

  • Developed critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and strategize solutions for avionics reliability in challenging environmental conditions, employing simulation software for environmental impact assessment.

  • Strengthened technical documentation and reporting skills, creating comprehensive design proposals and assessment plans that adhere to rigorous aerospace engineering protocols and safety requirements.

Home SOC Lab – Threat Detection & Response Simulation.

Designed and maintained a home-based Security Operations Center (SOC) lab to gain hands-on experience with tools and workflows used by Tier 1 SOC Analysts. The lab included SIEM configuration, attack simulation, log analysis, and incident response exercises using free and open-source tools. Key Responsibilities & Achievements:

  • Monitored logs and created alerts in Splunk Free to detect brute force, phishing, and port scanning attempts.

  • Conducted threat simulations using Kali Linux and tools such as Nmap, Hydra, and Metasploit.

  • Used Wireshark to capture and analyze suspicious network traffic, identifying common Indicators of Compromise (IOCs).

  • Built and maintained Windows 10 VM as a victim machine for endpoint logging and system behavior analysis.

  • Documented incidents following basic SOC ticketing workflows, including triage, prioritization, and response.

  • Wrote Python scripts for basic log parsing and automation of repetitive analysis tasks.

  • Followed security best practices and frameworks such as NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, and ISO 27001.

  • Practiced detection and mitigation strategies using Atomic Red Team techniques.

Electronic Arts Product Management Job Simulation on Forage

  • Completed a job simulation where I developed a solid understanding of different KPIs, and selected the most appropriate KPIs for measuring and assessing specific business problems related to a strategy RPG mobile game.

  • Demonstrated my knowledge of key performance indicators within the video game industry.

  • Broke down tasks for creating a data-driven video game presentation.
